Welcome to EFL Writing 4 Life!
This blog is a creation by a teacher of writing in English as a foreign language (EFL), mainly in the Thai (Thailand) context. Many of the ideas presented here, however, are drawn from my teaching experience in the ESL (English as a second language) context. EFL and ESL students, teachers, teacher trainees, or parents of students learning to write in any language are welcome to browse through the blog and may find it useful.
The posts in this blog are from my ideas that have accumulated over the years throughout my career of being a writing teacher. You may also find some ideas added to the main discussion in each post; these are by other contributors who are my friends and who have also had years of experience as language teachers in various countries.
The blog posts discuss various aspects of writing and writing in English, including ways to generate ideas, multiple draft writing (commonly referred to as “Process Writing”), revising, the affective and cognitive aspects of writing, expressive writing, academic writing, and creative writing.
I hope very much that my students, former and current, as well as any reader who might be interested in these topics, will find this blog a good companion to you as a writer–or simply as a person who is discovering a new way to learn about yourself and your world.
